11th edition UN Geneva Seminar Series
Air Pollution: challenges and solutions

In partnership with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)

Room XIV
Palais des Nations, Geneva
25 November 2019

Have you ever thought about the quality of the air you breathe? You can avoid drinking polluted water, but you can hardly stop breathing to avoid inhaling harmful pollutants. Pollutants in the air are everywhere even though we don’t see, feel or smell them. Air pollution impacts our health, environment and economy. Pollutants come from multiple sources, such as transport, energy and agriculture. It is therefore paramount that we take action together – across sectors and national boundaries.

Join us for this day event where we will discuss the challenges of air pollution and possible solutions to fight this global issue.

The seminar is composed of a series of conferences, panel discussions followed by debates with the participants from the United Nations agencies, academia, non-governmental organizations and the private sector.

Target audience

This seminar is open to university professors, students and researchers.

The conferences and panel discussions will be held in English and in French. There will be no official translation, therefore the participants are requested to have a working knowledge of both languages.
