Special Events

In addition to more than 10,000 official meetings held yearly at the Palais des Nations, the United Nations Office at Geneva organises special Events on a number of themes in focus with the work of the United Nations.

Among those, it is worth outlining the following:
  • The Geneva Peace Talks: Launched in 2013, the Geneva Peace Talks is an annual, public event organized on the occasion of the International Day of Peace in partnership between the United Nations Office at Geneva, the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform and Interpeace.
  • The UNOG-UNITAR Joint Geneva Lecture Series, open lectures organised on a regular basis by The United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)
  • The UNOG-DCAF Seminars, organised by UNOG and the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Controll of Armed Forces (DCAF)
  • The Annual Tripartite Meeting, held under a rotating chairmanship between the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), The Council fo Europe and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)
  • The independently organized TedX Place des Nations, the first ever organized by the UN in Geneva, which took place on 11 December 2014.
