The Director-General meets with Mr. Alexander Zouev, Assistant Secretary-General for Rule of Law and Security Institutions in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.

The Director-General delivers remarks at a panel discussion on “Weapons Development and Disarmament: Challenges and Opportunities”, organized by the Strategic Concept for the Removal of Arms and Proliferation (SCRAP).

The Director-General attends a meeting of the Advisory Board of the Strategic Heritage Plan.

The Director-General meets with Ms. Pauline Chappuis, President of the UN Orchestra and with Mr. Antoine Marguier, Conductor.

The Director-General delivers an opening speech at the 21st International Meeting of National Mine Action Programme Directors and United Nations Advisors, which is held under the theme “Advancing protection, peace and development”.

The Director-General participates in a joint press conference on the upcoming UN-UEFA Match for Solidarity, with Mr. Aleksander Èeferin, President of UEFA, and Mr. Luis Figo, one of the team captains of the game.

The Director-General presents staff members who have worked with UNOG for more than 25 years with awards for their dedicated service to the United Nations, thanking them for their engagement and teamwork.

The Director-General meets with Mr. Rafael Pardo, Minister for Post-Conflict, Human Rights and Security of the Republic of Colombia.

The new Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Mr. Yu Jianhua, presents his credentials to the Director-General.

The Director-General meets with Mr. Elhadj As Sy, Secretary-General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent Societies.

The Director-General briefs the Western European and Others Group (WEOG) on the ongoing and future activities at UNOG and in International Geneva.

The Director-General meets with Mr. Sergio Mujica, Secretary-General of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and with Mr. John Walter, President of the organization.

The Director-General delivers remarks at the opening of the 23rd edition of the International Humanitarian and Security Conference, organized by Webster University Geneva.

The Director-General meets with Ms. Charlotte Petri Gornitzka, Chair of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC), Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Following the meeting, he chairs a UNOG Executive Briefing with Ms. Petri Gornitzka.

The Director-General meets with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Delegation from the Indian State of Maharashtra.

The Director-General delivers remarks and interacts with civil society representatives on the occasion of his bi-annual meeting with NGOs. He provides an update on opportunities for engagement in UN processes in 2018 with the focus on Geneva, and discusses the necessity of strengthening the relationship between the United Nations and civil society.

The Director-General participates in the 53rd Munich Security Conference, an annual gathering dedicated to international security issues.
