Human Rights Day - 10 December

The UN Human Rights Office is pleased to invite all UN staff to attend our Human Rights Day celebration
which this year commemorates the
70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
When and where: 13 December 2018, 10.00 – 12.30 in Palais des Nations, Room XX (E Building, 3rd floor).
Young people are in the spotlight for this event – so they can share their dreams and personal engagement for human rights in the symbolic Room XX – the Human Rights and Alliance of Civilizations Room.
Students aged 12-19 will present what human rights mean to them and how they stand up for them in their daily lives
. The High Commissioner will also engage with young human rights defenders through a round table discussion.
More information about the programme will follow in the coming weeks.
This event is part of a global campaign to celebrate the 70th
anniversary of the Universal Declaration, called “Shine your lights on human rights”.
We invite you to attend with your own children
. If you have children aged 12-19, please encourage them to also participate in our competition: My Human Rights in 180 seconds.
A selection of participants will be among the presenters at the Human Rights Day event.
Interpretation will be available in French, English and Spanish.
