100 Years of Disarmament in Geneva / 40 Years of Conference on Disarmament

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Conference on Disarmament (CD) and the 100th anniversary of multilateral disarmament, the UK Mission partnered with the UN Library Geneva and UNODA to launch a temporary exhibition entitled 100 Years of Disarmament in Geneva / 40 Years of Conference on Disarmament. The exhibition was initially installed in the Council Foyer and launched on 26 February during the High Level Segment of the CD, and moved to the UN Museum Geneva in April 2019.

The exhibition looks at the milestones in multilateral disarmament from the time of the League of Nations until the present day and the Secretary-General’s new Disarmament Agenda launched in 2018. The exhibition is composed of 16 panels that show the biggest achievements in multilateralism in chronological order. In addition, the exhibition showcases original archival documents from the UN Archives Geneva, including the 1925 Geneva Protocol.

The exhibition will be available until July 2019.

The exhibition is organized in the framework of 100 Years of Multilateralism in Geneva celebrations that UN Geneva is organizing with partners in 2019 and 2020.
