Informal Indicative Schedule
The 2014 Meeting of States Parties was held in the Palais des Nations from 1 to 5 December 2014. The meeting opened at 10:00 on Monday 1 December in Room XVIII and closed on Friday 5 December.
The Meeting of States Parties was chaired by Ambassador Urs Schmid of Switzerland. In accordance with the decision of the Seventh Review Conference, the meeting considered the work of the Meeting of Experts (4-8 August 2014) on the three standing agenda items (cooperation and assistance, with a particular focus on strengthening cooperation and assistance under Article X; review of developments in the field of science and technology related to the Convention; and strengthening national implementation), as well as the biennial item of how to strengthen implementation of Article VII.

The Meeting of States Parties to the Biological Weapons Convention will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 1 to 5 December 2014. The Meeting will be held in conference room XVIII, E Building of the Palais des Nations, United Nations Office at Geneva, avenue de la Paix 8-14, 1211 Geneva 10, accessible via the Pregny Gate.
All registration letters/note verbales and the registration forms, if applicable, should reach the Implementation Support Unit no later than Monday 17 November 2014.
Valid grounds passes (issued either by the United Nations Office at Geneva or the United Nations Headquarters in New York) are required for entry into the Palais des Nations. Participants already possessing a United Nations grounds pass may proceed directly to the Meeting.
Participants without a valid grounds pass should fill in the conference registration form
(French version available here
) of the Security and Safety Section of the United Nations Office at Geneva. This form should be attached to the letter/note verbale that the permanent mission will address to the Implementation Support Unit.
Valid United Nations grounds passes can be collected from the Pass and Identification Unit, open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Pregny Gate of the Palais des Nations.
Delegations from States and international organisations can collect their passes as from Friday 28 November, 12:00 p.m.
NGO representatives can collect their passes in person on Monday, 1 December 2014, as from 8:00 a.m. The completed registration form and photo identification, valid passport or national identification card, will have to be produced in order to collect a grounds pass.
