The Preparatory Committee was held in the Palais des Nations (Room XVIII) from 26 to 27 April 2016 and resumed its work from 8 to 12 August 2016.
The Preparatory Committee prepared the way for the Eighth Review Conference of the Biological Weapons Convention, which will take place in Geneva from 7 to 25 November 2016.
The Meeting of States Parties in December 2015 approved the nomination of Ambassador György Molnár of Hungary as President of the Review Conference and Chairman of the Preparatory Committee.

As mandated by the 2015 Meeting of States Parties, the Chairman of the Preparatory Committee prepared a summary report under his own responsibility “for consideration of delegations ahead of the Review Conference, […] without prejudice to perspectives, recommendations, conclusions and proposals presented by delegations or that prejudges the final outcome of the Review Conference”. Indicative schedule for the resumed Preparatory Committee, 8-12 August 2016
This indicative schedule combines information from the agenda of the Preparatory Committee with information on side events taking place during the week. This is an informal document designed to assist States Parties in their preparations for the resumed meeting of the Preparatory Committee. It will be updated by the ISU as necessary.
