The Protocol V Eleventh Conference will be held on 20 November 2017 in Geneva and presided over by Ambassador Andre Pung of Estonia.

Registration: Please note that following past practise High Contracting Parties, State signatories and observer States wishing to attend must send, through their permanent missions, a letter or note verbale to the CCW Implementation Support Unit setting out the members of their delegations. The notes verbales should clearly indicate those delegates that do have a badge to enter the Palais des Nations. International organizations, NGOs and academic institutions must send directly a letter setting out the members of their delegations to the CCW Implementation Support Unit. For the upcoming CCW meetings, online registration (INDICO) is not required.

Estimated costs for CCW meetings and conferences in 2018 and 2019


In accordance with the decisions taken at the Tenth Conference and Fifth Review Conference, this year's work on Protocol V will focus on an Article 4. The recommendations are the following:
  • All High Contracting Parties are called on to implement Article 4 procedures, provide appropriate training to their armed forces and ensure such procedures are reflected in their standard operating procedures, as adaptable to national circumstances.
  • The 2017 Meeting of Experts will include a workshop on Article 4, based on the provisional programme set out in Annex I.
