Kindly note that the accreditations provided for the first round of the discussions, as part of the Geneva Conference on Syria launched in Montreux on 22 January 2014, will expire today. Badges provided within this framework will no longer be accepted. Journalists wishing to cover the second round of the discussions will need to seek accreditation again. The meeting between the two delegations and the Joint Special Representative has started.
The Joint Special Representative is expected to address the press in Room III at around 1.45 p.m.

As indicated during his press conference
this afternoon, the Joint Special Representative for Syria, Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi, will hold talks with the two Syrian delegations tomorrow.
There will be no photo opportunity in the morning and the United Nations Information Service will not respond to queries or requests for technical support before 1 p.m.
The Joint Special Representative is expected to give a press conference late in the afternoon (to be confirmed).

Room V will remain open throughout the weekend as workspace and overflow for any press conference.
Journalists in possession of a Montreux badge and not holding access magnetic cards will be able to enter the building through door 11 and 23. Access to the Palais will be authorized through the Pregny Gate by foot only.
The press bar on the ground floor will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Joint Special Representative for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, will be meeting with the Syrian Arab Republic delegation at 11.00 a.m. and with the Syrian Opposition Delegation at 4.00 p.m. at the Palais des Nations, Geneva. Both meetings are private.
The Joint Special Representative should address the media at 5.30/6.00 p.m. in Room III (time to be confirmed). Journalists are requested to come to Room III at least one hour ahead of time for security checks.
There will be no filming allowed at arrivals.
