BACKGROUND:

The annual UN Forum on Business and Human Rights was established by the Human Rights Council in 2011 to promote dialogue and cooperation on issues linked to business and human rights. In particular, the Forum looks at challenges in the implementation of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, which provide an authoritative framework to prevent and address adverse human rights risks and impacts of business activities. To consult the Guiding Principles (in 6 languages) see:

The Forum is guided by the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights and organized by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
