The United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) are organizing a series of open lectures on a regular basis at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, entitled The Geneva Lecture Series. The lectures aim to foster awareness of a number of pressing global challenges among audiences in Geneva and beyond, with a focus on how each individual can contribute to resolving such challenges (Concept Note
The eight lecture, delivered by Mr. Martti Ahtisaari, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and former President of Finland, and Mr. José Ramos-Horta, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Guinea-Bissau and former President of Timor-Leste

took place on Wednesday, 13 November 2013 from 16:30 to 18:00
at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. Following the remarks, the public was invited to participate in a debate moderated by Darius Rochebin, television news anchor, Radio Télévision Suisse.
