The Director-General met with Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand. They discussed Thailand’s active role across the United Nations agenda, as well as the strengthening of the partnership between Thailand and the United Nations Office at Geneva.
The Director-General and the Prime Minister of Thailand, Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, opened the exhibition “Thailand and the United Nations: A Growing Partnership”, organized by the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Thailand to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.
The Director-General hosted a luncheon in honour of Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand. Prominent representatives of the diplomatic community in Geneva and of international organizations participated in the luncheon.
The Director-General attended a reception in honour of Mr. Roberto Azevêdo, Director-General of the World Trade Organization, hosted by Ms. Maria Nazareth Farani Azevêdo, Permanent Representative of Brazil to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Director-General met with Mr. Jean-Claude Mignon, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. They discussed the work of the United Nations system in Geneva and shared views on reinforcing the strong relationship between the two organizations.
In his role as Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament and Personal Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General to the Conference, the Director-General participated in its plenary meeting and delivered a statement.
The Director-General opened a symposium on “Indigenous Peoples at the United Nations: from the experience of the first delegates to the empowerment of the younger generations”.
The Director-General opened the Joint UNOG-GPP-Institute for Economics and Peace Event on “Positive Peace and the Post 2015 Development Agenda: Towards a more comprehensive approach to increase resilience and wellbeing”.
The Director-General opened an exhibition of disaster relief housing, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
The new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sudan, Mrs. Rahma Salih Elobied, presented her credentials to the Director-General, who welcomed her as her country’s representative to the United Nations in Geneva.
The Director-General opened the exhibition entitled “Pour un monde plus doux”, jointly organized with the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations Office at Geneva.
The Director-General attended a dinner in honour of Mr. Juan José Gómez Camacho, Permanent Representative of Mexico to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, hosted by Mrs. Betty King, Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Director-General had a working meeting with Mr. Rashid Khalikov, Director of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
The Director-General met with Ms. Maia Panjikidze, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia. Among issues discussed were current regional developments, the ongoing Geneva International Discussions and enhancing the partnership between the United Nations and Georgia.

The Director-General, in his capacity as Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament and Personal Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General to the Conference, participated in a high-level plenary session of the Conference with the participation of Mr. Wunna Maung Lwin, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

The Director-General met H.E. Mr. Jean-Hugues Simon-Michel, Permanent Representative of France to the Conference on Disarmament.
The Director-General participated by video-conference in the Management Committee meeting chaired by the Chef de Cabinet of the Secretary-General, in which cross-cutting management issues of the Organization were discussed.
