The Director-General met Dr. Colum de Sales Murphy, President of the Geneva School of Diplomacy and International Relations to discuss continued cooperation and other issues of common interest.

The Director-General attended a reception on the occasion of the “Fête des Rois” hosted by Mr. Michel Perret, Director-General of the Intercontinental Hotel.
9 JANUARY 2013
The Director-General met with five newly-elected inspectors from the Joint Inspection Unit (JIU) and welcomed them to the United Nations Office at Geneva.

The Director-General opened the Model United Nations of the Lycée-Collège International de Ferney-Voltaire on “ICTs as the way forward in development, peace and prosperity”.

The new Permanent Representative of Mauritius, Mr. Israhyananda Dhalladoo, presented his credentials to the Director-General, who welcomed him as his country’s new representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

The Director-General met officials from Initiatives of Change International, including its Honorary President Mr. Cornelio Sommaruga, and its President, Dr. Omnia Marzouk, to discuss cooperation between the United Nations Office at Geneva and the organization towards common priorities.

The Director-General met Mr. Lakhdar Brahimi, the Joint Special Representative of the United Nations and the League of Arab States on the Syrian crisis prior to his consultations at the Palais des Nations.

The Director-General met Mr. Warren Sach, Assistant Secretary-General for Central Support Services to discuss issues of common interest and United Nations priorities.
