The Director-General met Mr. Juan José Gómez Camacho, Permanent Representative of Mexico to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Director-General, in his capacity as Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament and Personal Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General to the Conference, participated in presidential consultations and a plenary meeting of the Conference.

The Director-General attended a luncheon hosted by Mr. Hellmut Hoffmann, Permanent Representative of Germany to the Conference on Disarmament in honour of Mr. Dimitris Iliopoulos, Deputy Head, Permanent Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The Director-General participated in the commemoration of World Humanitarian Day. He opened a panel discussion on the contribution of journalists in reporting on humanitarian situations, and expressed his appreciation for their commitment and conviction.

The new Permanent Representative of Israel, Mr. Eviatar Manor, presented his credentials to the Director-General, who welcomed him as his country’s representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

Ms. Carla María Rodríguez Mancia, the new Permanent Representative of Guatemala, presented her credentials to the Director-General, who welcomed her as her country’s representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

The Director-General attended a reception hosted by the Swiss Federal Council, the State Council of the Republic and Canton of Geneva and the Executive Council of the City of Geneva, on the occasion of the first meeting of the Board of the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

The Director-General met with Ambassador Michael von Ungern-Sternberg, General Director, United Nations and Global Issues, Federal German Foreign Office.
