The Director-General met with Mr. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, President of Iceland to discuss issues related to sustainable development and green energy, as well as Iceland’s contributions to the work of the United Nations.
The Director-General delivered the message of Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to the Fourth Review Conference of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW).
The Director-General met Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Mr. Ashot Hovakimian to discuss regional developments and issues of interaction between the United Nations and Armenia.
The Director-General attended a reception to celebrate the National Day of Turkmenistan, and shared his congratulations on the occasion.

The Director-General met with Mr. Riccardo Migliori, Head of the Italian Delegation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Parliamentary Assembly and Vice President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Mr. Matteo Mecacci, Chair of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly General Committee on Human Rights, Democracy and Humanitarian Questions and Ms. Laura Mirachian, Permanent Representative of Italy.
The Director-General met with Mr. Abdulla Falah Abdulla Al-Dosari, Permanent Representative of Qatar, before his departure from Geneva and thanked him for his collaboration with the United Nations Office at Geneva.
The Director-General participated in the Swiss-American Friendship Concert "Healing for the Nations", which featured performances by the American Medical Music Group, as well as a number of Geneva-based musical ensembles.

The Director-General met with Mr. Malloum Bamanga Abbas, Permanent Representative of Chad to discuss developments in the region and Chad’s contributions to the work of the United Nations.
The Director-General chaired the Security Management Group meeting with the attendance of representatives of all the international organizations and agencies in Geneva.

The new Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam, Mr. Pengiran Kasmirhan bin Pengiran Haji Tahir, presented his credentials to the Director-General, who welcomed him as his country’s new representative to the United Nations in Geneva.
The Director-General met with Dr. Péter Sztáray, Deputy State Secretary for Security Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary to discuss issues related to the advancement of common goals in the areas of non-proliferation, peace and security.
The Director-General met with Mr. Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The Director-General participated in the Geneva International Luncheon Series, in which he discussed the role of the United Nations in promoting global governance.
The Director-General participated by video-conference in the Management Committee meeting chaired by the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General in which cross-cutting management issues of the Organization were discussed.
