At an embargoed media briefing on 2 December, WHO will release the most comprehensive report to date estimating the global burden of foodborne diseases. This helps address the lack of data on a leading cause of preventable illness and death worldwide.

7 December 2015 13:45 - 14:30Launch of the Global Humanitarian Appeal 2016 to support people affected by disasters and conflicts. The appeal combines response plans and urgent humanitarian requirements spanning 37 countries.
The launch is the culmination of a global process in which hundreds of organizations delivering humanitarian aid in crisis-affected regions come together to assess needs and formulate concerted plans and a unified funding request to Member States and donor organizations.
