The Twelfth Meeting of the States Parties (Geneva, Switzerland, 3 - 7 December 2012) decided that the Thirteenth Meeting of the States Parties (13MSP) will take place in Geneva, Switzerland during the week of 2 December 2013. The Meeting mandated its President to continue consultations with States Parties with a view to proposing, by the end of February 2013, a candidate to be designated to preside over the Thirteenth Meeting

Pursuant to resolution 67/32 of the General Assembly of the United Nations and in accordance with the established practice, the Secretary-General of the United Nations is undertaking all preparations necessary to convene the 13MSP. Accordingly, a note verbale by the Secretary-General on convening the 13MSP was circulated, as follows:


An invitation letter was also addressed to the relevan international organizations by Ms Angela Kane, High Representative for Disarmament Affairs.

The 13MSP will be held at the United Nations Office at Geneva.
