The Director-General travels to Carrara to see the progress of “The Rebirth” sculpture by Maestro Michelangelo Pistoletto, the world-renowned Italian artist who is preparing a monumental sculpture that will be donated to the UN by Italy and will be placed in the Ariana Park on 24 October 2015 as part of an Open Day at the Palais des Nations.

The Director-General meets members of the Fifth Committee of the UN General Assembly on the occasion of their field trip to Geneva, to discuss the Strategic Heritage Plan and other issues of interest to UN Office at Geneva.

The Director-General meets with Mr. Richard Lennane, the representative of the Geneva Nuclear Disarmament Initiative.

The Director-General meets with H.E. Ms. Sujata Mehta, State Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India to exchange views on various issues.

The new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Mrs. Vesna Batistic Kos, presents her Credentials to the Director-General.

The Director-General delivers remarks on the occasion of the day of Swiss cities, an annual event organised by the Union of Swiss cities and focusing this year on the topic “How to ensure social cohesion? Means of political action”.
