The Director-General met H.E. Professor Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). They reviewed various aspects of the growing cooperation between the United Nations and the OIC, including the active participation of the OIC in the recent International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria. The Director-General and the Secretary-General concurred on the importance of channels for dialogue and exchange such as those provided by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.
