Literary Evening in Honour of Czeslaw Milosz Attended by Director-General

The Director-General attended a literary evening held in honour of the poet and essayist Czeslaw Milosz who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1980. At the event, organized by the Permanent Missions of Lithuania, Poland and the United States of America, the Director-General highlighted the power and transformative nature of literature and the role of the United Nations in promoting literacy around the world.
