Director-General Participates in Event to mark the 25th Anniversary of the United Nations Declaration on the Right to Development

The Director-General participated in a Roundtable discussion on “The Right to Development: Constraints and Perspectives” to mark the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Declaration on the Right to Development. The roundtable was sponsored by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement, together with the Office for the High Commissioner of Human rights. In his remarks, the Director-General focused on the nexus between disarmament and development and the need for a nuanced approach to advance the goals of peace and sustainable development.
