Director-General Swears In United Nations Appeals Tribunal Judge

On behalf of the Secretary-General, the Director-General swore in Judge Mary Faherty (Ireland), who was elected by the General Assembly in January 2011 as a judge of the UN Appeals Tribunal. He thanked the judges of both the Dispute Tribunal and Appeals Tribunal for the progress made in terms of expeditious review of cases, promotion of justice and cultivation of accountability.
