The Director-General participated in the opening of the annual high-level segment of the Human Rights Council which will feature addresses by some 90 Ministers and other high-level dignitaries. This segment, which opens the 19th session of the Council, provides an opportunity for State representatives to present national human rights policies and practices and also discuss other situations of human rights around the globe. Countries that will be featured on the agenda include Iran, Myanmar, Côte d’Ivoire, Libya and Syria.
