Director-General Visits CERN Large Hadron Collider

The Director-General visited the Large Hadron Collider at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). The Large Hadron Collider, a particle accelerator used by physicists to study the smallest known particles, is seen as being essential to increasing understanding of the laws of nature and the universe. During the visit, the Director-General noted the excellent collaboration between UNOG and CERN in a variety of fields, achieving greater efficiency and effectiveness in operations and drawing attention to the value of science in society.
