Is the world ready for the SDGs?
Wednesday, 17 May 2017, 17:00 - 18:00
UNOG Library Events Room B-135
Palais des Nations, Geneva
Cédric Dupont & Jorge Viñuales
for an animated discussion on multilateral negotiation processes and how these connect, or not, with each other and with the SDG framework. Using the case of trade, investment and the environment, among other questions, Professors Dupont and Viñuales will consider:
How does the current multilateral system itself, with a plethora of actors and agents, help or hinder progress toward the SDGs?
How could things be changed, and should they be?
Given the current political climate, what is the outlook for the SDGs and how might multilateral negotiations be structured to better ensure SDG targets are met?
